DUTIES OF THE DATA PROTECTION OFFICER AND ADVISING IN DATA PROTECTION MATTERS
 

Data protection regulation is in a new phase in Finland and in Europe. The European Union has adopted the EU General Data Protection Regulation, which will apply from 25 May 2018.

In certain cases, the Regulation requires the appointment of a Data Protection Officer. Even if there is no obligation to appoint, each company should consider examining its own activities’ compliance with the provisions as well as its processes and the content of its contracts to take into account the requirements of the Regulation and national law.
